The GOP: still putting party over country

When the GOP was in the minority, it was bad enough that they just wanted to obstruct. But this is getting ridiculous. First, it was Ryan saying he would not work with Democrats. As Senator Bob Corker said “We have come a long way in our country when the speaker of one party urges a president NOT to work with the other party to solve a problem.”

But the ramrodding of the Supreme Court justice this week will live on for decades. As I’ve said before, every 5-4 decision he sides with the majority will be questioned. And it’s largely the doing of one very powerful man, the Senate Majority Leader, Mitch McConnell.

As this great article from the Washington Post points out, McConnell is a partisan hypocrite of the kind that even gets noticed in the capital of hypocrisy. Let’s hope he can be called the minority leader soon.
